Reid Carrillo is an associate at Johnson Garcia, where he enjoys zealously advocating for those who have been injured. A fourth-generation Texan, growing up in the small town of Beeville, Texas, Reid graduated from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in 2019, where he graduated summa cum laude. Reid graduated magna cum laude from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2022.
While in law school, Reid was chair of South Texas’s nationally recognized moot court team, a member of the South Texas Law Review, and a guest editor on the Texas Review of Law & Politics. Reid became a national champion mooter at the 2021 National Latino Law Students Moot Court Competition, Regional Co-Champion at the 2022 American Bar Association Moot Court Competition, and won multiple awards for his writing at other competitions.
Directly after law school, Reid clerked for two federal judges in the Southern District of Texas: David S. Morales and Drew B. Tipton. During this time, Reid became an expert in legal research and writing, discovered how judges think, and learned what makes a compelling argument in court. After clerking, Reid worked at a prestigious, large law firm. Reid quickly realized the “Big Law” life was not for him. Now, Reid dedicates his practice to helping people that have been injured. In his free time, Reid enjoys giving back to his law school by instructing students in the fundamentals of oral argument, golf, Astros baseball, reading, and traveling.
